《细雪》是日本著名作家谷崎润一郎的一部具有世界影响的长篇小说，成书于二十世纪四十年代，作品讲述了莳冈家四姐妹的日常生活和情感，充满了浪漫主义和日本古典美的元素。1985年，《细雪》被翻译成中文出版。迄今为止，中国内地和台湾正式出版了四种译本。中文版《细雪》以其字里行间渗透着原汁原味的日本文化受到读者的高度评价。因此是日本文学翻译成功的典型。 本文以《细雪》的原文和各种译本为考察对象，选择典型的翻译片断，通过原文与译文、译文与译文的对比，借助翻译学和西方语言学的一些理论，验证文学翻译的一些特征和技巧。在举例讨论一般性翻译问题的基础上，又着重分析了中文译文对原文的再现，并考察了翻译活动背后的机制。 翻译文学是文学活动的领域之一，也是文化传播的重要手段。作为连接两种语言和文化的桥梁，翻译活动既关系着原文本的再现，也影响着读者对文学作品的接受。本文通过作品原文和译文的对比，力争在更深度的层面上，挖掘语法功能背后的一些左右译文的事项。揭示翻译活动不仅仅是语言层面的操作，同时也是译者对两种文化的理解与表达。
“The Makioka Sisters” is a novel that has gained worldwide influence written by the famous Japanese writer Tanizaki Junichiro in the 40s of the 20th century. The novel represented the daily life and affections of the Makioka sisters, which is full of elements of romantic and Japanese classical aesthetics. “The Makioka Sisters” was translated to Chinese firstly in 1985. And by now there have been 4 versions of Chinese translations among the mainland and the Taiwan of China. The Chinese version of The Makioka Sisters was being highly welcomed by all readers for its original characteristics of Japanese culture from its sentences and lines. Thus, it can be evaluated as a successful example of translation of Japanese literature. In this paper, the original Japanese text and all kinds of translated version are considered as the main research objects, from which typical parts are selected to make text-to-translation and translation-to-translation comparative research. Through this process and some theories of translation and linguistics, certain characteristics and skills of literary translation are tested and proved. On the basis of general translation, the reproduction of original text by Chinese translation is emphatically analyzed and the factors which may affect translation activities are investigated. Literary translation is a form of literary activities, as well as an important method of cultural communications. As a bridge that connects two languages and cultures, the translation activity not only concerns about the reproduction of original text, but also affects the reception of literature works by readers. Therefore, in this paper it is attempted to dig out some factors that influence the translation hidden behind the grammatical functions in a deeper level and to reveal the fact that translation activity is beyond the operation of languages, and that it is in fact the understanding and expression of the translator towards the two cultures.
